It was a mixed weekend for the Ipswich Basketball junior teams with the Under 16 teams headlining the success.
On Saturday, the Under 16 Girls managed to secure their 10th win of the season in a big win away from home at CoLA. The final scoreline was 53-59 and the girls sit top of the Southern Premier Division.
The Under 16 Boys were also successful against London opposition as they came from behind in overtime to beat London Greenhouse Pioneers 75-71. Robbie Cruickshanks top scored with 27 points, he was supported by Kalen Gouldbourne with 15 and Matt Liddamore with 12. They did fall to defeat on Sunday though on the road against Brentwood Fire with that game ending 96-68. Kalen Gouldbourne led the scoring with 16 points supported by Robbie Cruickshanks and Matt Liddamore.
The Under 18 Men were also victorious against London Greenhouse Pioneers on Saturday. Important contributions came from Harrison Gregg (22), Josh Sowoolu (20) and Harry Laws (14). There was less success on Sunday however as they lost 83-109 in a high scoring affair against Baltic Stars.
In a preview of this weekend's upcoming cup final, the Under 18 Women took on CoLA. Ipswich will take a number of lessons from this matchup into their preparation for the final this weekend where they will look to enact some revenge.
The Under 14 Girls were in action on Saturday at home to Milton Keynes Breakers. The Breakers took the win back to MK with a score of 55-79.
