Following an outstanding second half performance on the defensive end the Ipswich Basketball Academy Women's team, who are based at Copleston High School, now prepare for a first trip to the WEABL Final.
The Women's Elite Academy Basketball League is in its 5th season, and this represents the first time the Ipswich side has made the final, following defeat against eventual champions Charnwood College in 2018/19.
The WEABL is the pinnacle of Women's Junior basketball in the UK and further cements Ipswich Basketball Academy's status as a club & academy pathway as good as anywhere else in the country.
The girls face last year’s runners-up, City of London Academy (better known as CoLA) in the Championship game next Wednesday (18th), at the University of Essex. The game tips off at 2:30pm. We appreciate that this is during the day, on a school/working day, but we are still asking that as many people from the Ipswich Basketball Family as possible, attend and support the girls. Fresh off success in the U18 National Cup Final, lifting the WEABL Championship would represent an outstanding year for our Girls programme.
