Match Report: The Senior Women breeze past CoLA

Endeavour Ipswich Basketball Club’s Senior Women produced one of their best performances of the season, beating CoLA Southwark Pride 106-66 to move to 14-3 on the season, as they head into the final five games of the WNBL Division One regular season.

Ipswich had to contend with the visitors shooting an incredible 36 free throws in the game, but despite this, were in ruthless form from start to finish, behind a total team effort that saw everyone contribute.

Not for the first time this season, Ipswich were led by the fantastic Harriet Welham, who went for 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. However, it was more than just the league’s leading scorer doing the damage, with Liv Forster, Yazmin Edwards, Danni Cazey and Liv Partridge getting into double figures while Christabel Osarobo was again everywhere with another double-double (14 points and 16 rebounds).

The league leaders now turn their attention to next Sunday’s showdown with Brent Bulls. The Londoners have the same number of losses as Ipswich (3) but one less win. With plenty of basketball still to play, this is not quite a title decider, but it certainly is a game that could have a real say in where the WNBL D1 League title ends up.
