Endeavour Ipswich Basketball Club’s Senior Women’s team lost just their second game on the season falling 88-87 to an impressive Thames Valley Cavaliers team in a preview of next weekend's National Cup Final.

TVC led for the whole game, holding a sixteen point advantage early in the fourth quarter before Ipswich finally found some rhythm and mounted their comeback.

With just six seconds to play, Olivia Forster’s driving lay-up finally gave the home side a one point lead, but the young guard was unable to convert the ‘and one’. It looked like Ipswich had escaped with a win when Thames Valley missed on their final shot attempt, however, with just enough time on the clock, the opponents were able to collect the offensive rebound and lay the ball in for a huge win.

Ipswich remain at the top of WNBL Division One, but with CoLA and TVC collecting wins this weekend alongside Brent securing another two, things are getting very interesting at the top of the league.

Ipswich now turn their attention to Sunday’s National Cup Final where they will hope for a better result against Thames Valley.
