Endeavour Ipswich Basketball Club’s Senior Women moved to 13-3 on the season, winning a crucial battle with league leaders and reigning playoff champions CoLA Southwark Pride, and now find themselves at the top of WNBL Division One with six games to play… However, with Ipswich, CoLA and Brent all on 3 losses, there are still a huge amount of twists and turns left in this season, especially with IBC on the road to Brent this coming Sunday, while Brent also need to make the trip across London to Southwark. CoLA hold the head-to-head advantage over Ipswich should the teams finish with the same record, but with over a month to play in the regular season there is no telling who will come out on top. With 13 wins to CoLA and Brent's 12 each, as it stands, Ipswich sit atop the tree.
Saturday’s game saw Ipswich dominate the first half, with some outstanding defence and great shooting from beyond the arc. Despite holding a dominant 45-25 showing, CoLA demonstrated that they didn’t get where they are by folding their hand at half time, and the London side showed why they are the reigning D1 Playoff Champions with a strong comeback in the second half, reducing the lead to sixteen going into the fourth, and bringing it as close as eight at one point, before Ipswich eventually put the game to bed, winning the contest 77-65.
Ipswich were led by the hot shooting Maddy Wormald, who went for an impressive 24 point, 10 rebound double-double, that included five triples in the first half, helping Ipswich to build their lead. Elsewhere, Louisa Gibbins added 7 points, fourteen rebounds and three blocks while Maisie Keyes contributed fifteen points, six assists and five rebounds in a great all-round performance.

CoLA are on the road on Saturday to a talented Worcester Wolves team on Saturday where a win will mount the pressure onto both Brent and Ipswich, who face each other in a pivotal match up on Sunday.
