Endeavour Ipswich Basketball Club’s Senior Women started 2025 with a win, moving to 8-3 in the league, with a solid win over Barking Abbey.
The game saw the hosts start the better of the two teams, jumping out to an early lead, eventually winning the period 22-21. However, the second and third quarters Ipswich turned up the defensive intensity, holding Barking to just nine points across the two periods, including a fifteen-minute stretch where the Londoners were unable to put any points on the board. Meanwhile, on the offensive end, a balanced attack saw Ipswich scored 37 points during the same period, taking a 58-31 lead into the final stanza.
In the fourth quarter, Barking were able to find their offensive flow and play some excellent basketball, winning the period 18-16, making the final score 49-74 in favour of the Suffolk side.
Ipswich now turn their attention to the newly named London Cavaliers on Saturday at HQ, double heading with the Senior Men.
