The Endeavour Ipswich Basketball Club Senior Women go back to winning ways with a hard fought win on their home court, against a very strong Reading Rockets team.
Ipswich led for almost the entire game but could not shake off their opponents who repeatedly clawed their way back into the game every time it look like Ipswich would make one of their trademark scoring runs. The Suffolk side were ahead by six points after the first period, that was then reduced to five going into half time. The third quarter saw them play their best basketball, taking a ten point advantage into the games final period, where Reading fought back to within four points before Ipswich finally extended it to seven to finish the game.
Ipswich were led by a season high 38 points from Harriet Welham who was helped by 16 points and 7 rebounds from Louisa Gibbins. Osarobo also helped herself to a fifth consecutive double-double to start 2024.
Ipswich continue to sit at the top of WNBL Division One with a 12-3 record. They are on the road on Saturday as they make the long trip north to Manchester (8-6).
