In the four years since it's in inception, the Hoopsfix All Star Classic has been the premier showcase event for British Basketball young talent. In 2019, with numerous additions, the 5th annual HASC looks set to be the best yet and is headlined by representation from Ipswich personnel.
Taking place on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June, tickets are still available in limited quantities at http://www.hoopsfixallstarclassic.com/ but supporters are advised to get in there quick as it's always a sell out!
The Saturday sees the Under 19 Women's All Star Game debut at HASC at 4pm with Ipswich being represented by Esther Little and Cameron Taylor-Willis following their selection to the All-WEABL South 1st Team this season. They will be suiting up for Team Black.
"It's going to be fun going up against the coach that has been with me since I was 12 for the first time. There will be a lot of bragging rights at stake and I'm looking forward to the first practice after we win!" Esther said.
Their opposing coach, for the first time in their young basketball careers, will be Academy and Women's Head Coach Nick Drane on Team White. The duel between Coach and two of the highest profile Academy players in the programme will be an added spice to the occasion as the girls will be doing everything they can to win one over on their coach.
On the Sunday, Ipswich are represented in the Underclassman All Star Game at 2pm with three Academy players set to suit up. Ben Winter, Veron Eze (Both Team Black) and EABL South Conference MVP and Defensive Player of the Year Ethan Price (Team White) in a game showcasing the best players in the country who will still be playing in the Academy Leagues set up next season.
These events are fundamental to the growth of British Basketball and show the huge talent on show in Ipswich and in Britain. Hoopsfix absolutely deserve our support in this so we must support them and get down to the event if at all possible!
