Host Families Needed for Academy Players 2019/20

Apply to Become a Host Family – Help Transform a Young Person’s Life

Could you welcome a young basketball player into your home?

Ipswich Basketball Club is currently seeking host families for U19 Sixth Form students studying at the Ipswich Basketball Academy in Ipswich.

The host family experience is an important part of the academy student life and Ipswich Basketball Club is looking to recruit families who will welcome the students as a part of their family.

Becoming a host family comes with a number of benefits including the chance to meet students from all over the country and be an integral part of helping a young basketball player fulfil their dream of a fulltime sport and academic study.

Host families will also receive up to £105 per week whilst the student is studying at the academy.

EABL MVP Ethan Price has benefited from a Host Family this academic year, allowing him to attend Copleston Sixth Form

Host families would ideally need to live within a two to three-mile radius of the academy’s academic institution, on Foxhall Road, Ipswich and in the IP4 or IP5 region. Though given the easy to use public transport in Ipswich, all those interested are encouraged to contact us.

Ipswich Basketball Club and Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students and vulnerable adults. Therefore, all applicants to become a host family will have to be approved by our academy welfare team and meet the requirements to become a host family.

If you would like to know more about the benefits and responsibilities involved or would like to request the chance to apply please contact Head Coach Nick Drane NickDrane@IpswichBasketball.co.uk or 07879841749 .
