The Playground to Pro Basketball Community Basketball Project offers expert basketball coaching sessions in and around the Ipswich area to primary and secondary school aged children. The project delivers both curricular and extra-curricular sessions in schools as well as after school community sessions and holiday activities. We are currently delivering sessions across several schools, with over 600 young people engaged in basketball activity either in these sessions, or as part of our partnership with the Ipswich and South Suffolk Schools Association.

 

In addition to the weekly delivery of sessions, we also lead the Ipswich and South Suffolk Schools Basketball Finals Events, at which we identify and invite gifted and talented young people to join one of our Centre’s of Excellence, which are an integral part of the Ipswich Basketball Development Pathway.

Sessions are led by Playground 2 Pro Director, and Ipswich Basketball Club and Academy Head Coach Nick Drane, one of the most decorated and respected basketball coaches in the UK. Also delivering the sessions for the Playground to Pro scheme is Ipswich Basketball Club U18 Men Head Coach, Danny Manning. Danny leads the delivery of the community sessions and also works at our Academy as EABL Head Coach.
